Decision Time: Vinyl or Concrete (Gunite) Interior
Before designing your custom in ground swimming pool there are a few things we need to know. The first step is deciding whether you would like a vinyl pool interior or concrete pool (Gunite) interior.
A Gunite pool has a few advantages that a vinyl pool does not. Our vinyl pool liners for new pool construction come exclusively from Fox pools and the vinyl liners are in predetermined shapes, meaning that a Gunite pool will allow you the luxury of creating your own, custom pool shape.
That being said we would not recommend a Gunite pool over a vinyl pool. A recommendation for one over the other – a Gunite pool or a vinyl pool – would be based on your preferences, which we would discuss with you. Our owner prefers a Gunite pool because of the flexibility of design and the strength of a concrete swimming pool. Our service manager prefers vinyl pools because of the way they feel and the lower cost compared to that of a Gunite pool. It's a matter of personal preference to be addressed when you begin the process of designing your new swimming pool but it is good to have an initial idea of Gunite pools against vinyl pools before speaking to our pool contractors.
